01

Setup & Menu Location

After installing the plugin, a dedicated top-level menu appears in your WordPress admin sidebar:

📢 Campaigns (top-level menu) → Dashboard / All Campaigns / Add New / Settings
✅ Good to know: WooCommerce is not required. The countdown and coupon display work standalone; WooCommerce is only used if you choose to link a real WooCommerce coupon instead of a manual code.
02

SCREEN Dashboard

The landing screen — a quick overview of all your campaigns, plus shortcuts to the most common actions.

📊 Stat cards

Five counters at the top: Total Campaigns, Active Now, Scheduled, Expired, and Draft / Disabled. These update automatically as your campaigns change status.

🗂️ Recent Campaigns table

Shows your last 5 campaigns with name, status, coupon, start and end date. Click a campaign name to jump straight into its editor.

⚡ Quick Actions & Status

Shortcuts to create a campaign, open Import/Export, or reach documentation and support. The Status box confirms whether WooCommerce is detected and shows your current plugin version.

03

SCREEN All Campaigns

A card-based list of every campaign you've created, each with quick actions.

🎴 Each campaign card shows
  • Status badge — Draft / Enabled / Disabled / Scheduled / Active / Expired
  • Theme — Light or Dark
  • Coupon & end date — at a glance, without opening the editor
🔘 Card actions
  • Edit — opens the full campaign editor
  • Duplicate — instantly clones the campaign as a new draft
  • Export — downloads this single campaign as a JSON file
  • Enable / Disable — quick status toggle without opening the editor
  • Delete — permanently removes the campaign
⛔ Caution: Deleting a campaign cannot be undone. Use Export first if you may want it back later.
04

EDITOR TAB Content

The campaign editor opens here first — the text and coupon that will appear on your banner.

🏷️ Toggle Tab Label

The whole banner stays collapsed behind a small vertical tab until a visitor clicks it. This text is shown on that tab (default: "Get Coupon Code").

✏️ Campaign Title / Subtitle / Short Description

The main headline, an optional subtitle, and a short description shown inside the opened banner panel.

🎟️ Coupon
  • Manual Coupon Code — type any code yourself; it is only displayed, not validated by WooCommerce.
  • Select WooCommerce Coupon — search and link a real, existing WooCommerce coupon (only available when WooCommerce is active).
⚠️ If you pick "Select WooCommerce Coupon" without WooCommerce active, this option stays disabled — the field is grayed out until WooCommerce is installed and activated.
05

EDITOR TAB Countdown

When the campaign starts and ends, and how the timer is displayed.

🟢 Start Date / Start Time (optional)

Leave empty to make the campaign eligible to run immediately once Enabled. If set, the campaign shows as "Scheduled" and stays hidden until that date/time.

🔴 End Date / End Time

The moment the countdown reaches zero and the campaign is considered expired.

✅ The countdown always uses your WordPress site timezone (shown live on this tab) — never the visitor's local clock, so the countdown is always accurate and consistent for every visitor.
⏱️ Countdown Format

Days : Hours : Minutes : Seconds or Hours : Minutes : Seconds — pick the second option for short-lived, flash-sale style campaigns under 24 hours.

06

EDITOR TAB Appearance

Full visual control: theme, every color, typography per element, and the coupon box style.

🌗 Theme

Choose Light or Dark as your starting point — every color below can still be customized on top of it.

🌈 Colors

12 individually editable colors, each with its own picker:

Field What It Colors
BackgroundThe banner's overall background
CountdownThe Days/Hours/Minutes/Seconds numbers
TitleThe campaign title text
SubtitleThe subtitle text
DescriptionThe short description text
Coupon BackgroundThe fill color of the coupon code box
Coupon BorderThe dashed/solid/dotted border of the coupon box
Coupon CodeThe coupon code text itself
ButtonThe copy button's background
Button TextThe copy button's label text
Button HoverThe copy button's background on hover
Close ButtonThe "X" close icon color
🔤 Typography

Six text elements — Countdown, Title, Subtitle, Description, Coupon Code, Copy Button — each with its own row of controls: Size, Weight, and where applicable Letter Spacing, Line Height, Align (left/center/right), and Transform (none / UPPERCASE / lowercase / Capitalize).

✅ Tip: Every field group on this tab has a "Reset to default" link if you want to undo your changes to just that section.
🎟️ Coupon Box Style

Border Style (Dashed / Solid / Dotted), Border Width, Corner Radius, and internal Padding — all in pixels.

07

EDITOR TAB Layout

Where the banner sits on the page and exactly how big it is, on every device size.

📏 Module Width / Banner Height

The fixed pixel size of the banner card. Width ranges 240–720px, height 60–320px.

📍 Desktop Position / Mobile Position

Desktop: Bottom Right, Bottom Left, Top Right, Top Left, Center Right, or Center Left.
Mobile: Bottom Center, Bottom Left, or Bottom Right — set independently so the banner never blocks mobile content awkwardly.

↔️ Position Offsets

Fine-tune the exact Top / Right / Bottom / Left spacing in pixels, set separately for Desktop, Tablet, and Mobile breakpoints.

⚠️ Leave a side field empty to let it be determined automatically by the selected position — only fill in the sides you want to override.
08

EDITOR TAB Behavior

Controls the close button and what happens once the countdown reaches zero.

✖️ Enable Close Button

Adds an "X" to the opened panel. Clicking it only slides the panel shut back to its small tab — it never hides the banner permanently. Visitors can always reopen it by clicking the tab again.

⏳ When the campaign expires…
  • Hide the module — the banner disappears entirely once the end date/time passes
  • Show an expired message — the banner stays visible with a custom message you set in the Expired Message field that appears
  • Keep module, hide coupon — the banner and countdown stay, but the coupon code is no longer shown
09

EDITOR TAB Advanced

Custom CSS scoped to a single campaign, plus a per-campaign JSON export.

🧩 Custom CSS

A free-text CSS field that only affects this specific campaign. Scope your selectors under .ideap-campaign to avoid affecting other campaigns or the rest of your site.

⛔ Risky Area: Invalid CSS can break this campaign's appearance. Back up your existing code before making changes.
📤 Export This Campaign

Downloads just this one campaign as a JSON file — useful for backing it up or copying it to another site (only shown for existing, already-saved campaigns).

10

Live Preview Panel

On the right side of every editor tab, a live preview shows your changes in real time — rendered with the exact same template used on your live site.

🖥️📱 Device switcher

Toggle between a Desktop and Mobile preview to check your Layout tab positions and offsets on both.

11

SCREEN Settings

Global preferences that apply across all campaigns, plus import/export.

📤📥 Export Campaigns / Import Campaigns

Export All downloads every campaign as one JSON file. Import uploads a previously exported JSON file — imported campaigns are always added as new drafts and never overwrite existing ones.

🔧 Advanced
  • Enable IP tracking for analytics — off by default; no data ever leaves your site.
  • Enable local coupon-copy analytics — off by default; stored only in your own database, never sent externally.
⛔ Delete all plugin data (campaigns & settings) when the plugin is uninstalled — off by default. Enable only if you're certain: this permanently deletes every campaign once the plugin is uninstalled.
🔓 No License Required

A confirmation panel reminding you the plugin is fully standalone: no license key, no activation call, no external server connection, and no telemetry — ever.

12

Manual Placement — Shortcode & Block

By default a campaign floats site-wide once Enabled. To manually place a specific campaign inside a page or post instead, use either of these:

[ideap_campaign]
[ideap_campaign id="123"]

Without an id, the shortcode shows your first eligible campaign. Add an id to target one specific campaign (find the ID in the campaign's edit URL).

✅ A native Gutenberg block ("IdeaPlugins Campaign Banner") is also available in the block editor, with a campaign selector — it falls back to the shortcode automatically.
13

Frequently Asked Questions

Does this require WooCommerce?

No. The countdown and coupon display work with zero WooCommerce dependency. If WooCommerce is active, you can optionally link a real WooCommerce coupon instead of typing a manual code.

Will updating the plugin delete my campaigns?

No. Campaigns and settings live in your WordPress database and are never touched by a plugin file update.

Does the plugin send any data to IdeaPlugins or any third party?

No. There is no license key, no activation call, no analytics, and no telemetry of any kind.

Can I show multiple campaigns?

Yes — create as many as you like from Campaigns → Add New. Use the shortcode with an id attribute, or the block's campaign selector, to control exactly where each one appears.
